Four Foot Fotos video and marketing campaign for the Ballarat International Foto Biennale

It’s been a lot of fun producing the new Four Foot Fotos promotional video for the Ballarat International Foto Biennale. Four Foot Fotos will be staging three days of portrait shoots for the biennale in September 2019. This video combines photographs from Four Foot Fotos, background music selected by Ballarat Business Media and graphics developed for the video. The aim was to promote the video on the Four Foot Fotos (Ballarat) website, Four Foot Fotos social media and social media of the biennale and dog related businesses in the Greater Ballarat area. The demographic reach is fairly wide, as dog

A fake interview, just for fun!

I’m a presenter at Good News Radio in Ballarat, Australis. I do Saturday lunchtime. It’s a great gig. I get to play music I love and talk about stuff that’s important to me. One artist I really love is Zach Williams. He’s got a southern rock sound and a gravely voice, and a real passion in the way he sings. I’ve put in a gravelly voice when introducing his songs a few times and it’s got a laugh, so last Saturday I had a bit of fun by ‘interviewing him’. If you want a laugh, have a listen! I’d you

What in the world is happening to the world we knew?

Life is changing very rapidly. Jobs are changing too. Will your job even be here in ten years?  Fretting about the security of your job because of the Fourth Industrial Revolution? In our marvelous age of cognitive computing technologies, the good news is that people will perform less boring and repetitive manual tasks. The bad news is that individuals may lose their jobs as a consequence. The widening knowledge of human displacement by robotic process automation (RPA), machine learning, augmented intelligence, natural language processing, and image-recognition tools is sending shivers across some workplaces. Not just administrative, entry-level, or task-based roles are at

How to do away with Excel spreadsheets and get your business really organised Flowingly!

Business has moved on… Business has moved on: It’s moved on from from being tied to one PC. It’s moved on from just storing important information in spreadsheets and staff going “oops!” when they accidentally delete a cell. It’s moved on from not easily knowing where obvious, fundamental processes are upto. Things like:* Leave Requests* Customer Service Requests*New Staff On-boarding * Reimbursements I’ll help you model your processes Building a process means you need to understand your business from a process first (then role and data) perspective. Not everyone has their head in that space though. That’s where I come in.

Android Apps & iPhone apps in a Flutter!

Did you know Android apps and iPhone apps are totally different code wise? There are two different app stores, and two different ways of building them. Serious companies with lots of funding will do dedicated apps for both platforms (and sometimes Windows phones too). App builders can be hideously expensive, but can generate apps from a central design for both platforms. There are limitations though, because most of these app builders can’t access features that are unique to Android or iPhone architecture. Enter FLUTTER. “Flutter allows you to build beautiful native apps on iOS and Android from a single codebase.’

Creating a Welcome Front-Office Environment

What do people see at your business? I know that’s a bit of a different question! Most consultants probably start with “What are your products and services?” or “Show me your business strategy”. People are however driven by emotional and visual affinity as well as factual product and service statements. In fact, I’d be well prepared to say that many people who enter your business judge it first on emotional response to your environment (yes, the one you created) before they want to know something more factual. Many customers either identify and bond with the imagery, which puts them at

How to decide what to put on your webpage

How to decide what to put at the top of your webpage People often wonder what to put on their web page, and it’s a legitimate question; but it’s hooked into a larger question that I’m going to cover by answering by the question “How do I decide what to put at the top of my web page?”. That may be a new thought to you, but it’s really important, because that’s what people see first. And my answer: “It depends on the purpose of the page!”. “That’s cheeky!”, you may think, but read on… One kind of web page
